Join us for a free photography workshop in Portland, Oregon, led by Brett Brown.

Calling all Portland, Oregon creatives! Black Women Photographers, in partnership with Nikon USA, is thrilled to host Nikon Creator Brett Brown for an exclusive, hands-on session designed for all experience levels—whether you’re picking up a camera for the first time or looking to expand your portrait skills.

This beginner-friendly workshop is an introduction to studio lighting and how to create stunning portraits using minimal gear and space. Brett will demonstrate how you can create studio quality portraits using just one light and a few simple modifiers—perfect for anyone shooting from home or in tight spaces and on a limited budget.

What to Expect:

  • Learn the basics of studio lighting using just one light source and few modifiers

  • No studio? No problem. Learn how to make the most of your space and take stunning portraits in small spaces

  • Learn the basics of some of the technical aspects of working with strobe lights and shooting in manual mode

  • Get practical tips on lighting, composition, and working with your subject

  • Walk away with inspiration and techniques you can apply right away

Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, this event is your chance to learn and connect with other passionate photographers.
