The BWP Awards

Black Women Photographers is a home for Black women and non-binary photographers to receive recognition and support. We're excited to continue this mission by announcing the annual BWP Awards to recognize your contributions to the art form.

The BWP Awards, established in 2021, honors Black photographers in four different categories, celebrating talent and accomplishments in every season of growth and career development.

Breakout Photographer:

This award is for a talented newcomer whose artistic voice and vision show great promise and potential. Ideally, this is a photographer who started their photography journey within the last two years.

Trailblazer:

This award is for a photographer that is blazing uncommon territory and uncharted paths in the world of photography, or creating work that goes beyond artistic norms in our industry.

Rising Star:

This award is for a photographer whose developing career is blossoming and blooming and has achieved notable success in the industry.

Living Legend:

This is a legacy award for a photographer with an established portfolio and an excellent collection of work that spans decades.
