Picturing Black Femme and Queer Communities in New York Now

On Wednesday, artists Naima Green (@naimagreen), Nona Faustine (@nonafaustine), and Laylah Amatullah Barrayn (@laylahb) will sit down for conversation, moderated by Dr. Tanisha C. Ford (@soulistaphd), about photography as a creative apparatus for shifting dominant narratives about Black women, femme and queer folks, families, and communities in New York.

Following the event, explore work by Green, Faustine, Barrayn, and 30 other lens-based artists in @museumofcityny’s newest exhibition “New York Now: Home.” Please email us to RSVP.
